Different types of a guitar amp

Once you've selected your guitar, you need to find an amp to go with it. Today there are different options available depending on the size, sound amplifier technology and configuration. We are here to give you some useful information and necessary to guide you through the maze.

Different types of amplifiers

There are basically four types of amplifiers guitar: solid state (analog), Tube, Modeling (digital), and hybrids.

Amp semiconductor - These amplifiers are recognized in the solid state because they use transistors for their preamp and power sections as an alternative to tubes. They are extremely reliable and almost never needs repair. They normally have a very fresh tone, even though many come with "distortion" channels also. These amplifiers are all the rage with players looking for a safe, reliable amp passage.

Tube Amps - tube amps are favored by many guitarists their warm, fat tone to both "organic" distortion. tube amps are generally noisier than the state amp solid of the same power and have a correct "feel" that you do not acquire semiconductor amplifiers. Most amps have tubes different channels, which could be cleaning the distorted sounds instantly. Tube performance can also deteriorate over time, so tubes need changing from time to time.

Modeling amps (Digital Amps) - modeling amp uses digital processors to reproduce the sound of traditional tube and contemporary technology. Using software that "models" the sound of tube amplifiers (and cabinets), these amps to the sound of different amps in one box. modeling amps are programmable, and often with digital effects like delay, chorus, etc. Some well understand digital or even analog outputs with speaker simulation to go direct to border a recording or PA.

Amp Hybrid - Combining the best of each type of guitar amp in a single package, these amps use a tube in combination with the real power part to their solid state amps. Marshall valve amps use tubes in the preamp and circuits in solid state power section to make a tube tone without requiring the use of power tubes.
