Fender Guitars Legacy
One manufacturer of the most famous guitars in the world is Fender. Their guitars were played by Famous guitarists such as Jimmy Hendrix and Eric Clapton. Fender was not the first manufacturer to produce electric guitars, but they were one of the most successful.
Launched in 1938 by Leo Fender, the company was originally called "Fender's Radio Service and he went radios and amplifiers. He then started building his own amplifiers to help solve design problems with those currently on the market.
He then partnered with Clayton Orr Kauffman to create an electric guitar to the Hawaiian steel. The partners then separated when Fender wanted to focus on the design of guitars, and created the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation. With the creation of this society, Fender has successfully created the first electric guitar with a solid body, the famous Stratocaster.
Stratocaster or Start, was designed by Leo Fender in 1954 and is one of the most famous guitars and durable power in the world. The Stratocaster is still in production today and has been copied by many other guitar manufacturers.
In 1965, Leo Fender sold his company for about $ 13 million for CBS. While many praised the sale as a positive factor in society, in reality the guitars produced by CBS were of inferior quality. Therefore, many fenders vintage produced before 1965 and in good condition can command a higher price.
In the early 1980s Fender has been faced with one hand declining market, and in response made the start Squire, a cheaper version of the Stratocaster, in response to lower the price of Japanese models who were on the market.
In 1981, William Schultz, has been appointed as the new president of Fender, and it was determined to take the company top of the page. Faced with lower profits in 1985, CBS decided to sell the company to Schultz. It was an important moment in the long history of the company.
Schultz wanted to improve the quality of the guitar and decided to build new plants near the house to help control quality and keep shipping costs down. Then in 1995, Fender purchased Guild Guitar to acquire its manufacturing plant in Rhode Island.
Today Fender is back on top and manufactures over 25 styles of electric guitars, including the Toronado, the Jazzmaster and the Mustang.
