This means that the signer can not really claim that he did not sign the document because it is the only one who knows the private key. Some formats non-repudiation have a timestamp for the digital signature. If the private key is known or has been known, the date and time will be able to determine if the signature was valid at the time it was created.

Electronic and digital signatures can be created as bit string as in the email, contracts and other digital messages sent over an encryption protocol.

Individuals or businesses who want to try to use an electronic signature is not often ask if these forms of authentication are legally binding.
