The range of Moog synthesizers was invented by Dr. Robert Moog around 1966. These synthesizers are "big" enough with a few modular modules Separate multiple interconnected by patch cords, which would bring the sounds produced by the oscillators through implementation of filters and effects. This structure allows the instrument to provide unprecedented flexibility in sound design thus making a Moog synthesizer culture icon electronic music.
In this decidedly digital age, more and more contemporary musicians and rockers are rediscovering the analog sound Moog synthesizer. Dr. Robert Moog, the inventor began Moog Music, originally known as RA Moog Co., which manufactures and markets these synthesizers.
The first instruments were Moog modular synthesizers. In 1971, Moog Music began production of the Minimoog Model D which was among the first widely available synthesizers, handy and relatively inexpensive. Moog synthesizers were designed in collaboration with the composers Herbert A. Deutsch, and Wendy Carlos.
Another jewel of the range of Moog Taurus was the kick pedal synthesizer who came in 1975. As the organ pedal bass pedals triggered synth sounds. The Taurus was known for its low "fat" and was used by the band Genesis, Rush, Electric Light Orchestra, Yes, Pink Floyd and many others. The modern version of the latter is known as the Taurus II.
According to the American Physical Society, "The first live performance of a synthesizer music was composed by pianist Paul Bley at Lincoln Center in New York, December 26, 1969. Bley developed a proprietary interface that allowed real-time performance on music synthesizer. "
The Moog synthesizer was first reached its peak popularity in the 1960s with the success of Carlos "Switched-On Bach. In fact, Wendy Carlos in 1968 album" Switched-On Bach ", a collection of interpretations of Bach classics synthesis was the first synthesizer commercial success, selling over 1 million copies. He enthuses other musicians and groups to follow suit, and consequently many albums tried to get the name Moog built in their names of albums, as well, such as Classics Moog country, Martin Denny's Exotic Moog, etc.
Nowadays many products Moog can still be bought, as Moogerfoogers Little Phatty and Minimoog. In fact, the Minimoog is very popular because they sell more than U.S. $ 3000 on online auction sites on a regular basis.
Despite the fact that the Moog Music created outcry both in industry and electronic music with the Moog synthesizer, but he did not survive long. Later companies like Arp and Roland took charge themselves to continue in the lines of the Moog as they developed the instrument and come with other prototypes. Over the Moog spent the day became all the more sophisticated and affordable.
Moog synthesizers were manufactured in 1985 before the original Moog Music went bankrupt in 1986. By the analog mid-1990s, synthesizers were again very popular and appreciated for their classic sound. In 2001, Robert Moog company Big Briar was able to acquire the rights to the Moog name and officially became Moog Music. Moog Music has been producing the Minimoog Voyager is based on the original Minimoog since 2002. In 2006, more than 15 companies make modules Moog synthesizer style.

Moog Minimoog Voyager Xl $4995 Designed in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Minimoog, the Minimoog Voyager XL is a sonic powerhouse that pays homage to important milestones in the Moog synthesizer legacy. It starts with the heart of a Minimoog Model D. Fat oscillators and warm Moog filters give it that unmistakable Moog sound and the rugged construction and intuitive user interface design immediately tells you that you're playing a high-quality musical instrument. From the current Voyager lineage, the XL inherits a 100% analog signal path with stable oscillators, patch storage, touch surface, pot mapping and extensive MIDI control functionality. To all this, add a ribbon controller and 61 note keyboard and you have a monster analog monosynth built on a 40-year legacy of sonic exploration.Incorporating virtually all of the sound resources and functions of the original Minimoog Model D and Voyager, The Minimoog Voyager XL features extensive front-panel patchability that harkens back to the original ground-breaking Moog modular synthesizers. A host of features previously found only on massive modular synthesizers combined with state-of-the-art analog technology make it a sound design and control dream machine.Incorporates virtually all of the sound resources and functions of the original Minimoog Model D and Voyager61-note velocity sensitive keyboard with after-pressureRibbon controller with pitch and gate cv outputsTouch surface controller with x, y, a and gate outputsExternal audio inputEffects loop insert2 active attenuators4-input cv mixerLag processorAdditional LFO source with multiple MIDI-syncable waveforms3 four-way mults20 control voltage outputs3 gate outputs10 control voltage inputs4 gate inputs2 modulation bussesSolid oak cabinetTilting control panel |
