A few months ago, I received an email from Sarah McUmber-House asking if I want to review his new book "Nemofotmad Chord, vol 1:. Chords for Tunes in over 200 Celtic & Old-Time Traditions. "Seeing as how I play the autoharp, an instrument primarily chordal, I was fascinated by the concept and very skeptical, but my fascination was such that I had seen.

jump right in Let's. The book is exactly as stated. It is a book of understanding. There are no points on the lines as in the partition. Instead, you square blocks with a letter, which is the rope in it. It seems a bit odd. It seems extremely simple. Almost boringly simple. At the top is the name of tune in order alphabetical and a rope and style settings: Reel, Jig, Rag, Polka, Set Dance, Hornpipe, etc..

After receiving it, I lost interest and waits for someone else to review the book. Then the day of reckoning has come. I had a show and brought in a violinist to play with. We need an update at the end of a song. He chose "Soldier's Joy". On a whim, I thought: "I whether it is in the book. "I opened it up. There was the song. There have been agreements. I had no trouble playing along the order. It was exactly as the title has appointed, and it turns out it was perfect for what I needed, an easy fast Reference to play chords on Irish tunes.

Included in the book is an easy-Key / Chord Transposition Chart for instrumentalists who want play in different keys, a nice description of different types of songs and how to recognize, and some blank pages at the end of annotating your own songs.

Overall, if you're a player agreement and need a quick and easy guide, this book is for you. I highly recommended for those who want to play Irish tunes, and I can not wait for Volume 2 to appear. What a great idea! Thank you Sarah!
