Versus electric pianos electronic keyboards and synthesizers
An electric piano is, as can be understood by the name, an electronic device which can produce sounds like a piano. It is basically an instrument that looks like a keyboard with the difference that, in any electronic keyboard Many sounds can be played including the piano will be present, but the electric version you can only play the piano sound. It is especially designed to produce a single sound. However, today these instruments can also reproduce the sound of an organ too. A harpsichord is another instrument whose sound is often produced.
The first electric piano name behind the brand name, which Wurlitzer used for their instruments which were performed on electricity. However, the electronic keyboard which we speak is quite different. These analog circuits used for the operation. To explain a little clearly, there are analog synthesizers present in these keyboards. These can produce sounds across a range of oscillators. Older electric piano was a mechanical noise sometimes unique and vans used to produce the sound. A Fender Rhodes is a good example.
Many electric pianos that are used today date back many years. This was mainly produced in the late seventies and most keyboards have been designed Italy. But there is an exception here because the U.S. has produced a few in the year 1967. RMI Society of the United States have produced these into the 1980s, then production stopped. This is because, until that time professional musicians used electric piano, but after the 1980s with the advent of electronic keyboards synth they have been rejected and people took to the synthesizers.
However, there were technical reasons behind the rejection of the piano. Most keyboards were not real sensitive to touch and velocity modulation of tone was not possible. The electronic keyboard on the other hand gave more options and you can change the depth of your grade based on the tactile pressure on the keys. Therefore, electric pianos have become obsolete should be used from time to time, but still a great noise.

Yamaha An1x $71.7 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Yamaha AN1x, produced by Yamaha Corporation from 1997 to 1998, is a DSPbased analog modeling synthesizer and while it was marketed as Analog physical modeling control synthesizer, it doesnt employ actual physical modeling synthesis. In order to keep manufacturing costs down, Yamaha decided to build the synthesizer in the same casing as the otherwise entirely unrelated CS1x and CS2x, which has led to some confusion. Yamaha referred to the AN1x as control synthesizer. This was due to each patch in the AN1x having 20 control sets, which were assignments of the useradjustable controls and MIDI control change messages to a number of numerical parameters of the sound engine. User controls includes keyboard pitch, velocity and channel aftertouch, modulation wheel, a pressuresensitive ribbon controller, connectors for two expression pedals, a foot switch jack and the parameter edit knobs when in assignmode. Yamaha Dx7 $71.7 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Yamaha DX7 was a synthesizer manufactured by the Yamaha Corporation from 1983 to 1986. It was the first commercially successful digital synthesizer. It can be heard on many recordings from the 1980s. The DX7 was the moderately priced model of the DX series of FM keyboards that included the smaller DX9, DX100, DX11, and DX21 and the larger DX5 and DX1. Over 160,000 DX7s were made. It was based on frequency modulation synthesis (FM) based on research by John Chowning at Stanford University. The DX7 was known for precision and flexibility of its bright, digital sounds, which were much clearer than those of the analog synthesizers that preceded it. The DX7 is wellknown for its electric piano, bells, and other metal striking metal sounds. It was monotimbral and capable of 16note polyphony. It had 32 algorithms, each being a different arrangement allowing the user to combine its six sound operators together dependently and/or independently. Yamaha CS80 $81.25 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Yamaha CS80 was a polyphonic analog synthesizer released in 1977. It sported true 8voice polyphony (with two independent synthesizer layers per voice) as well as a primitive (sound) settings memory based on a bank of micropotentiometers (rather than the digital programmable presets the Prophet5 would sport soon after), and exceptionally complete performer expression features, such as a splittable keyboard that was both velocitysensitive (like a pianos) and pressuresensitive ( aftertouch ) but unlike most modern keyboards the aftertouch could be applied to individual voices rather than in common, and a ribbon controller allowing for polyphonic pitchbends and glissandos. This can be heard on the Blade Runner soundtrack by Vangelis, in which virtually all the sounds are created from the CS80. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Timpledon, Miriam T./ Marseken, Susan F. Yamaha Ym2203 $62.13 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The YM2203, aka OPN (FM Operator TypeN), is a sixchannel sound chip developed by Yamaha. Its the progenitor of Yamahas OPN family of FM synthesis chips used in many videogame and computer systems throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. The YM2203 itself was used in a variety of NEC computers, along with various arcade game machines. The YM2203 and the rest of the OPN synthesizer family generate sound via frequencymodulated digital sine waves, in a 10bit floating point number form, and fed through successive operator cells. The resulting digital sound is mixed in a builtin digital mixer and converted to analog sound through a DAC, either with an external companion chip or an internal DAC, depending on the model.
